Video: Community Leaders Dismiss Viral Banditry Claim in Orísunmibare, Describe Video as False Alarm

Residents and community leaders in the Orisunmibare area have dismissed a viral video circulating on social media alleging that bandits had invaded the community and kidnapped students in the Bare and Pako areas.

The video, which sparked panic among residents and social media users, reportedly featured a lady raising alarm over an alleged security threat in the area.

However, findings from community leaders and local sources confirmed that the claims were false and misleading.

Speaking on the development, leaders within the community clarified that there was no incident of bandit attack or student kidnapping in Orisunmibare, or Pako areas, urging residents and the general public not to panic.

According to them, the area remains relatively calm and peaceful, contrary to the impression created in the viral video.

Community stakeholders condemned the spread of unverified information, warning that such false alarms could create unnecessary fear, tension, and confusion among residents.

They also alleged that the lady behind the viral video may have circulated the claims in a bid to gain attention and social media followers, describing the act as irresponsible and dangerous.

Residents were advised to always verify security-related information through credible sources before sharing online, while security agencies and community leaders continue to monitor the area to ensure peace and safety.

The incident has once again highlighted the dangers of fake news and misinformation on social media, especially on sensitive security matters capable of causing public panic.
