
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) officially commenced its screening exercise today, Saturday, May 16, 2026, for aspirants seeking to contest for Senate and House of Representatives positions ahead of the forthcoming general elections in Oyo State.
The exercise, which witnessed the presence of party stakeholders and aspirants from different constituencies, is aimed at ensuring that credible, competent, and qualified candidates emerge to represent the party.
Among those screened today were:

- Olaide Ishola, House of Representatives aspirant for Oluyole Local Government.
- Dr. Folake Morenike Tafita, House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
- Dr. Islamiat Oluwatoyin Adeniran, House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
- Kazeem Adeshina Abidikugu, House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency.

The screening exercise was conducted by the Oyo State Screening Committee led by:
- Prof. Sunday Fagbemi
- Prof. Lanre Olutayo
- Dr. Stephen Ilesanmi
Party officials revealed that the screening process will continue tomorrow for aspirants contesting for the State House of Assembly positions across the state.
The development marks another significant step in the party’s preparations toward the 2027 elections, as members and supporters look forward to a transparent and successful electoral process.
