ADC IBADAN SOUTH-WEST HOLDS SUCCESSFUL “YOUTH O’CLOCK 5,000 WALK,” COMMISSIONS NEW PARTY OFFICE

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ibadan South-West Local Government Chapter, under the leadership of Comrade Idris Adeshola Lawal, successfully organized the much-anticipated “Youth O’Clock 5,000 Walk” on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The colorful and energetic event attracted party members, supporters, youths, stakeholders, and ADC faithful from Ibadan South-West Local Government as well as representatives from the 33 local government areas across Oyo State.

Participants commenced the solidarity walk from various wards within Ibadan South-West Local Government and later converged at Under Bridge, Molete, before proceeding in a grand procession to Oke-Ado, where the newly established ADC Ibadan South-West Local Government Party Office was officially commissioned.

The event was filled with excitement, drumming, dancing, chanting of party slogans, and a strong display of unity, solidarity, and love among party members. The atmosphere further reflected the growing popularity, strength, and grassroots acceptance of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) within Ibadan South-West and Oyo State at large.

Among the notable dignitaries present at the memorable event were

1. ADC Governorship Aspirant, Dr. Gbemileke Alagbe ELENIYAN.

2. Member, Oyo State House of Assembly Aspirant for Ibadan South-West Constituency 1, Hon. Kehinde Apampa; 

3. Member, Oyo State House of Assembly Aspirant for Ibadan South-West Constituency 2, Hon. Waliyat Toyin Lawal; 

4. Hon. Omolara Oguntade, who officially stepped down for Hon. Kehinde Apampa in support of the party’s unity and progress 

5. Hon. Bolaji Ismail, who also stepped down for Hon. Waliyat Toyin Lawal in Ibadan South-West Constituency 2.

6. Oyo State youth leader, Comr. Ogbunbowale Niyi, who led the rally.

7. The Oyo State Chairman of ADC, Alhaji Olayinka Olona.

8. The Chairman of ADC Ibadan South-West Local Government, Comrade Idris Adeshola Lawal, alongside several party leaders and stakeholders.

The newly commissioned Ibadan South-West Local Government Party Office was officially inaugurated on behalf of the Oyo State Chairman, Alhaji Olayinka Olona, by Hon. Afosu, who represented him at the event.

Speaking during the gathering, all the leaders, stakeholders, and aspirants present at the event encouraged party members to remain united, committed, peaceful, and focused on the collective vision of building a stronger and more formidable ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Each of the speakers appreciated party members, youths, stakeholders, and supporters for their loyalty, dedication, sacrifice, and impressive turnout during the walk. They also commended members for their steadfast commitment toward the growth, unity, and progress of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) across Oyo State.

The speakers further emphasized the importance of youth participation in politics and encouraged young people to continue playing active roles in shaping the future of democracy and governance in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.

Special prayers were also offered for the peace, progress, unity, and victory of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the forthcoming 2027 general elections. Members expressed confidence and hope that the party and all its candidates would emerge victorious across Oyo State and Nigeria.

Participants described the “Youth O’Clock 5,000 Walk” as a huge success and a significant milestone toward strengthening grassroots mobilization, promoting youth engagement, and fostering unity within the party structure.

The event ended in an atmosphere of celebration, renewed hope, and determination among members to continue working tirelessly for the advancement and electoral success of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
