The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Oluyole Local Government Chapter, on Thursday, April 16, 2026, held its weekly meeting in a vibrant and engaging atmosphere, further strengthening party unity and grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting commenced at approximately 4:01 PM following a motion to begin proceedings moved by Mrs. Ibukun from Ward 7. Opening prayers were thereafter led in the Islamic way by Agba Sabe, setting a solemn and purposeful tone for deliberations.
In his address, the Local Government Chairman, Comrade Adekunle Samson, expressed deep appreciation to the State Executive Council led by the Oyo State Chairman, Alhaji Olayinka Olona, as well as other key stakeholders for their consistent support and leadership.
He also specially acknowledged and appreciated the unwavering support of prominent leaders and elders within Oluyole Local Government, including Leader Akindele Muhammad, Leader K.K Balogun, Leader (Hon) Ejidokun a.k.a. Iya Iseyin, Leader Alamu, Leader Alao Michael, Leader Kehinde Opara, Princess Daramola Oluremi, Princess Adegoke, Dr. Adio Mumini Kolawole, Afolabi Tunbosun, and many other dedicated party faithful whose continuous efforts have strengthened the party at the grassroots.
The Chairman further highlighted the successful conduct of the recent National Congress held in Abuja, describing it as a major milestone for the party. He noted that his physical presence at the congress provided firsthand insight into the progress of the ADC at the national level, while also congratulating the State Chairman for his resilience and leadership despite various challenges.
A major highlight of the meeting was the official declaration of intention by Honourable Olaide Ishola Adeniran (popularly known as Gold), who announced his ambition to contest for the House of Representatives seat. His declaration was met with enthusiastic support, as party members and leaders welcomed him with songs, applause, and celebratory dances.
During the interactive session, members and elders offered valuable advice to the aspirant, emphasizing the need for dedication, grassroots engagement, and investment of both time and resources in strengthening the party. Particular attention was drawn to developmental concerns within the constituency, including the absence of a public school in Ward 5, which members urged the aspirant to address if elected into office.
The meeting concluded on a high note with group photographs and renewed optimism among members, reflecting a shared commitment to unity, progress, and electoral success in the forthcoming 2027 elections.
