Yoruba Broadcasters Association (Oyo State Chapter) Announces YBA Day 2026: Launch of New Office and Award Presentation


The Yoruba Broadcasters Association (YBA), Oyo State Chapter, is pleased to announce the celebration of YBA Day 2026, a landmark event aimed at promoting excellence, unity, and professionalism within the broadcasting industry.

The event, which marks the 3-in-1 Programme, will feature the official launching of the association’s new office alongside a prestigious award presentation ceremony to honour outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth of broadcasting and societal development.

The event is scheduled to hold as follows:

Venue: Alebimoon Lounge and Hotel, Beside Watershed, Old Ife Road, Ibadan

YBA Day 2026 promises to be a remarkable gathering of distinguished personalities, media professionals, entertainers, and stakeholders across various sectors. The programme will celebrate achievements, foster collaboration, and further strengthen the role of broadcasting in cultural preservation and societal advancement.

The event will be hosted by prominent figures within the association, including Olajide Akinwumi  (Mr Best), Chairman of the YBA Oyo State Chapter, and Oria Sunday, Vice Chairman of the YBA Ibadan.

A number of eminent personalities will be honouring the ceremony, including:

  • Elder Olusayo Bakare, National President, YBA

  • Mr Adetoso Kayode (Kay Protocol), Chief Host

  • Adeshina Jagunmade (Paji1)

  • Hon. Alhaja Adebola Shakirat (ASHAD)

  • Ogudugba Akano

  • Aare Samuel Ibikunle (Arugbobois) – Special Guest of Honour

  • Alhaji Kunle Student – Special Guest of Honour

  • Sope Macherand (Jagunmola Apesin)

The event will also feature live entertainment from notable artists such as Sikiru Escaper, Young Smart, Glory Crown, Peevibez, and Ajiwolace, ensuring a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for all attendees.

Anchoring the event are seasoned Masters of Ceremony, MC Yotomi (IRI FM) and MC Kikioro (Noble FM), while musical entertainment will be provided by DJ Tosphalt.

Speaking ahead of the event, the leadership of the Yoruba Broadcasters Association emphasized that YBA Day 2026 is not only a celebration but also a platform to appreciate excellence, encourage professionalism, and inspire the next generation of broadcasters.
