Makinde Visits Adelabu’s Family, Assures Swift Rescue of Abducted Sister and Twin Sons


Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has paid a solidarity visit to the residence of the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, following the abduction of the minister’s sister and her twin sons by suspected kidnappers.

The governor's visit was aimed at expressing sympathy and support to the family during the difficult period while reassuring them that efforts were being intensified to secure the safe release of the victims.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Makinde said the state government shared in the pain and concerns of the family, stressing that security agencies were working tirelessly to ensure the abductees are rescued unharmed.

“We share in your pain at this difficult time. I want to assure you that the government and security agencies are doing everything possible to ensure the safe return of your sister and her children,” the governor said.

Makinde also conveyed his heartfelt sympathy to the Adelabu family, noting that the incident was unfortunate and deeply troubling.

He emphasized that law enforcement agencies had intensified efforts to track down the perpetrators and secure the release of the victims as quickly as possible.

“Our security agencies are on the matter, and we remain committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice,” he added.

The governor further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security across Oyo State through continuous collaboration with security agencies and relevant stakeholders.

According to him, the state government will continue to support initiatives aimed at combating kidnapping, banditry, and other criminal activities threatening the safety of residents.

“We will continue to work closely with security stakeholders to combat criminal activities, protect lives and property, and ensure that residents can go about their daily activities without fear,” Makinde stated.

The abduction of the minister’s sister and her twin sons has generated concern among residents and political stakeholders, with many calling for increased security measures to tackle the growing threat of kidnapping and other violent crimes.

Meanwhile, residents and well-wishers have continued to offer prayers and support for the safe return of the victims while security operatives intensify efforts to rescue them and apprehend those responsible for the crime.
