BREAKING: Gunmen Abduct Adelabu’s Sister and Her Twin Sons During School Run in Ibadan

The family of Adebayo Adelabu has confirmed the abduction of his younger sister, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, alongside her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, by unknown gunmen in Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Adelabu’s media aide, Comrade Femi Awogboro, the incident occurred in the early hours of June 3, 2026.

Mrs. John-Paul, 43, was reportedly kidnapped at about 7:30 a.m. while on her way to drop her children at school. The armed assailants intercepted their vehicle during the school run and forcefully whisked away the mother and her twin sons to an unknown destination.

The development has heightened concerns over the growing security challenges in parts of Oyo State and the country at large.

Mrs. John-Paul is a former staff member of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and First Bank Pension Custodian. She voluntarily retired from service last year and relocated to Ibadan with her children, with plans to later reunite with her husband in the United States.

The family disclosed that security and law enforcement agencies were immediately informed of the incident and have since launched investigations aimed at securing the safe release of the victims and apprehending those responsible.

While expressing confidence in the efforts of security operatives, the family assured the public that it would continue to cooperate with authorities and provide updates as events unfold.

The shocking abduction has sparked widespread concern and renewed calls for stronger security measures to protect residents from criminal activities.
