Popular Sandra Okunzuwa has opened up about how a past relationship ended after her ex-boyfriend saw a movie scene where she kissed a fellow actor.
Speaking during a recent episode of the BTS Reality Podcast, the Nollywood actress and producer revealed that her ex-partner broke up with her after someone sent him a clip from one of her movies featuring a romantic scene.
Okunzuwa described the reaction as stemming from insecurity, explaining that romantic scenes in movies are far from enjoyable due to the intense filming conditions on set.
“When actors kiss while filming, there are usually about 20 people watching, while the director keeps giving instructions. Even the air conditioner is often turned off during shooting, so there’s really nothing romantic about it,” she explained.
The actress added that onscreen kisses can sometimes affect actors’ personal relationships because some partners may struggle with jealousy or insecurity.
“I once lost a relationship because someone sent my ex-boyfriend a scene where I kissed an actor. At the time, I felt his reaction came from insecurity. But honestly, it’s not easy, and I understand people who say they can’t date actors,” she said.
Okunzuwa also stressed the importance of separating professional acting roles from real life, reminding the public that actors simply portray characters on screen.
“If it were possible to remove kissing scenes completely and people would still enjoy movies, I would support it,” she added.
The actress’ comments have since sparked conversations online about trust, jealousy, and the realities of relationships involving entertainers.
