Philanthropist Sponsors Mass Wedding for 100 Couples, Supports 415 Orphans in Yobe

A prominent philanthropist, Buba Yadi, has sponsored a mass wedding for 100 couples and provided Sallah clothing for 415 orphans in Buni-Yadi, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The humanitarian programme was organised by the Yobe State Hisbah Commission, Gujba Local Government Buni-Yadi Command, as part of efforts to promote social welfare, strengthen family values, and support vulnerable members of society.

Speaking during the event on Thursday, Yadi explained that the initiative was designed to improve the welfare of less privileged citizens and encourage social stability within the community.

“We will continue to support programmes that uplift vulnerable citizens and strengthen our communities,” he said.

The philanthropist also commended the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni for ongoing developmental projects and post-insurgency recovery efforts in Gujba Local Government Area.

According to him, the area has witnessed notable improvements in road construction, healthcare facilities, and market development under the current administration.

Yadi further encouraged indigenes of Gujba to complement government efforts through empowerment programmes and humanitarian interventions capable of positively impacting residents.

He also urged residents to continue supporting the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the incoming administration under Baba Wali as a continuation of ongoing developmental strides.

As part of the initiative, Yadi fully sponsored the wedding expenses for all 100 couples, including furnishing their homes and paying dowries worth ₦100,000 for each groom.

In addition, Sallah clothing was distributed to 415 orphans to enable them celebrate the festive season with joy and dignity.

Addressing the newly married couples, the philanthropist advised them to embrace patience, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence in building stable homes and stronger communities.

“Build strong and stable families that will contribute positively to society,” he advised.
