“Nigeria Will Overcome Insecurity” — First Lady Remi Tinubu Urges Hope Amid Rising Attacks

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful despite the growing security challenges confronting parts of the country, assuring citizens that concerted efforts are being made to restore peace and safety nationwide.

Speaking during a women’s gathering held on May 30, 2026, at the Ekitikete Pavilion in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, the First Lady expressed confidence that the Federal Government, security agencies, and international partners are working tirelessly to tackle insecurity across the country.

According to a statement released by the Office of the First Lady on Sunday, Senator Tinubu reassured Nigerians that the nation’s security challenges would be overcome through coordinated efforts and sustained collaboration.

She also expressed confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that he remains committed to addressing the security situation and safeguarding lives and property.

The First Lady urged Nigerians, particularly women, to remain hopeful, prayerful, and supportive of ongoing efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability.

“Nigeria remains a great and blessed nation,” she said, adding that the current challenges facing the country are temporary and will eventually pass.

Her remarks come at a time when several parts of the country continue to grapple with attacks, kidnappings, and other security concerns. States such as Oyo, Benue, and Borno have witnessed repeated incidents that have disrupted civilian life and heightened public anxiety.

One of the most disturbing recent incidents occurred in Ahoro Esinele Community, Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, where armed men reportedly attacked Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and L.A. Primary School on or about May 15, 2026.

During the attack, no fewer than 25 pupils and seven teachers were abducted. An assistant headmaster was reportedly killed during the invasion, while another teacher later lost his life in captivity, further underscoring the gravity of the security situation in the region.

Despite these challenges, Senator Oluremi Tinubu maintained that Nigeria would emerge stronger, urging citizens not to lose faith in the country’s future.
