Viral Video Misleading, Says Funke Akindele as She Reacts to Pasuma Snub Allegation

Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has dismissed viral claims that she deliberately ignored Fuji music star Wasiu Alabi Pasuma at a recent event in Lagos.

The controversy began after a video surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), showing the moment Pasuma appeared to seek Akindele’s attention while she was engaged in a conversation with another guest. In the clip, the actress continued her discussion, prompting the Fuji icon to return to his seat — a moment that sparked widespread speculation online.

An X influencer, Uoladiti, shared the video with the caption suggesting that Akindele had publicly snubbed the veteran musician, fueling reactions across social media.

However, responding to the claims, Akindele firmly denied any form of disrespect, describing the narrative as misleading and unnecessary negativity.

Snub? Hell no. Stop the negativity please. I saw him, greeted him, and even danced with him. Pasuma is my Egbon. Please you all should stop this evil,” she stated.

Her response has since calmed some of the online tension, as fans weigh in on the situation.

This development comes shortly after Akindele made headlines over a separate incident involving fellow actress Toyin Abraham. The two were reported to have had an awkward moment at a movie premiere, which led to Abraham publicly stating that she would no longer initiate conversations with Akindele.

Despite recent controversies, Akindele’s clarification on the Pasuma incident suggests that there may be no rift between her and the Fuji legend.
