Video: Lightning Strike Sets Palm Trees Ablaze in Ondo Community


A dramatic incident occurred on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, when two palm trees were struck by lightning and set ablaze during heavy rainfall on a premises in Igodan, not too far from Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa Local Government Area.

The incident, which happened at about 6:00 p.m., drew the attention of residents and passersby, as the trees caught fire almost immediately after being hit by a lightning strike amid the downpour.
