The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Oluyole Local Government Chapter, held its weekly meeting on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Olomi, Ibadan, with members and stakeholders in attendance.
The Chairman, in his opening remarks, Comr. Adekunle Samson saluted all the great leaders, starting from Alhaji Yinka Olona, the Oyo State ADC Chairman, Barr. Bimpe Adelowo, Oyo State ADC Publicity Secretary, and all the State EXCOs. He also appreciated all the leaders in Oluyole local government, led by Alhaji Akindele Muhammad and all the local and ward EXCOs in Oluyole local government.
The meeting proceeded by welcoming all the newly registered members, warmly received by the chairman (Comr. Adekunle Samson) into the party. Existing members expressed appreciation for their decision to join the ADC and encouraged them to remain active, committed, and fully engaged in party activities.
A major highlight of the meeting was the discussion surrounding the recent visit by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). It was reported that no members of the party were registered across the wards during the exercise. This development generated serious concern among members and was extensively deliberated upon, with a collective resolve to address the issue moving forward.
In response, the party outlined strategies aimed at strengthening its structure and improving participation ahead of the 2027 general elections. Members were strongly urged to remain united, committed, and cooperative in all party affairs, as unity was identified as a key factor for achieving electoral success.
The leadership also emphasized the importance of confidentiality, advising members to refrain from disclosing internal party matters to outsiders, in order to maintain discipline and protect the integrity of the party.
Furthermore, it was announced that the party would be conducting its Congress later in the month, and members were encouraged to begin adequate preparations in anticipation of the exercise.
Members were also reminded of the need to possess valid party membership cards, while executives were encouraged to support and sponsor members in obtaining their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).
In addition, members were tasked with mobilizing eligible individuals within their communities, particularly youths aged 18 and above, to register and obtain their voter’s cards. This effort is aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots presence and enhancing its participation in future elections.
The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment among members, as they collectively pledged to work together towards the growth, unity, and success of the African Democratic Congress in Oluyole Local Government.
